A loading assembly, suitable for attachment to a vehicle roof, comprises a first member (2, Figure 1) having an elongate channel (5, Figure 2), and a second member (3, Figure 1) having a first projection that, in use, engages with and slides within the channel so that the assembly moves from a stowed position to an extended position. The first projection defines a pivot axis about which one member is pivotable relative to the other member, which may intersect the centre of mass of the second member. An additional projection 6 may be provided at an end of the second member offset from the first projection. The assembly may, when extended, depend against a lateral side of the vehicle to facilitate loading and unloading, for example of a bicycle or a roof box, and the channel may have a gap allowing disengagement of the first projection. |
