<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain, from an image display device, an image suited for the resolution of the image display device, and to switch the layout of image displaying suited for the resolution of the image by the operation of the image display device side. <P>SOLUTION: The image display device that communicates with an image supply device based on printing communication protocol includes a storage means for storing an image display mode corresponding to printing conditions. When starting communication with the image supply device, the image display device transmits function information containing the printing conditions stored in the storage means, and receives a job containing printing conditions and image designation information from the image supply device after the transmission.
