PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sponge subjected to hydrophilic softening treatment which has moist feeling on both in drying and wetting, has strong hydrophilicity, and further has excellent productivity and operability. SOLUTION: A sponge is soaked into a treatment liquid, made of an aqueous solution comprising polymerizable monomers and having a cloud point of≥20°C, in a condition where the temperature state of the treatment liquid lies in the cloud point or below, the treatment liquid is heated up to a temperature of the cloud point or above and also to less than 80°C, the polymerizable monomers are precipitated at the surface and at the inside of the sponge to be polymerized. Alternatively, the cloud point of the treatment liquid comprising the polymerizable monomers is 20 to 75°C, and also, the treatment temperature is 25 to 80°C. COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
