PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a rod stock made from a titanium alloy, which can manufacture the rod stock made from the titanium alloy having a residual stress reduced to a small quantity with high productivity and in a high yield. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method includes: a first annealing step S3 of annealing a rod stock obtained by rolling a billet of a titanium alloy so as to have a predetermined cross-sectional dimension and cutting the rod stock into a predetermined length; a correcting step S4 of correcting the deflection of the rod stock which has been annealed; a surface-flaw-removing step S5 of cutting and removing the surface flaw of the rod stock of which the deflection has been corrected; a second annealing step S6 of annealing the rod stock of which the surface flaw has been removed; a warm-correcting step S7 of roll-correcting the deflection of the rod stock which has been annealed, while the rod stock has been heated to 600°C to theβ-transformation temperature; and a surface-polishing step S8 of polishing the surface of the rod stock which has been warm-corrected to manufacture a rod product.
