Cell, which is genetically modified over its wild type in such a way that it has a reduced ppGppase-activity relative to its wild type and preferably overproduces an amino acid derived from serine, preferably methionine or tryptophan, is new. Independent claims are included for: (1) preparing a cell overproducing amino acid; and (2) preparing an amino acid derived from serine, comprising culturing the cell, and optionally purifying the amino acid. |
