Disclosed is a multimedia data transmission method. The method comprises: after analog multimedia data sent by a terminal is received, converting the analog multimedia data into digital multimedia data; dividing the digital multimedia data into digital audio data and digital video data, and performing format conversion on the digital video data; and separately compressing the digital audio data and the digital video data on which format conversion is performed, and separately performing protocol format conversion on the compressed digital audio data and digital video data, and sending the digital audio data and the digital video data to a network. Also disclosed is a multimedia data apparatus. By using the technical solutions of the present invention, video data can be transmitted and audio data can also be transmitted, and the transmission rate of multimedia data is effectively improved. |
