PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active noise control device and an active noise control method, for expanding a spatial area which gives a silence effect without increasing the number of control points. SOLUTION: The active noise control device includes: a control speaker 13 which is disposed so that an arrival direction of direct control sound which directly arrives at a control point P in output control sounds may become the same direction as the arrival direction of direct noise which directly arrives at the control point P; a reference microphone 11; an error microphone 12; a digital signal processor (DSP) device 14 which identifies characteristics T and C of a transmission path and an error path, obtains a characteristic T<SB>DR</SB>of the transmission path by the direct noise, and a characteristic C<SB>DR</SB>of the error path, and which controls the control sound by constituting a control filter W for reducing the direct noise by making phase interference of the direct control sound and the direct noise at the control point P. Thereby, it is avoided that further control noise is output in order to cancel reflective sound of the control sound, and that excessive control sound is output in an area other than the area around the control point P.
