摘要 This invention prevents bright spots due to defects in a parallax optical element in a display unit that displays a plurality of images in different display directions. This image processing device is provided with an image input unit (1), a defect-information storage unit (2), and a correction unit (3). The image input unit (1) receives an image signal (I) that contains a level value for each subpixel of a display unit (5) that displays images in a plurality of display directions. Said display unit (5) has a parallax optical element that directs the light from each subpixel in a display direction determined on a per-subpixel basis. The defect-information storage unit (2) stores defect information that indicates defect subpixels that, due to defects in the parallax optical element, are also displayed in display directions other than the intended display direction. For each defect subpixel, on the basis of the level value for a subpixel for which the intended display direction is the non-intended display direction for that defect subpixel, the correction unit (3) determines a corrected value consisting of the level value corresponding to the defect subpixel in question in the image being displayed in the aforementioned non-intended display direction. The correction unit (3) outputs a corrected image signal that contains, as the level value for each defect subpixel, either the corrected value therefor or the level value therefor in the image signal, whichever is lower.
