PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery system for a vehicle with higher reliability. SOLUTION: A battery system for a vehicle is provided with discharge circuits (R1, 129A-129D, 128A-128D) for discharging battery cells (BC1-BC4) via measuring wires of the battery cells (BC1-BC4). The control circuit transmits a first discharge command for discharging the odd-numbered battery cells (BC1, BC3) of a cell group (GB1), a first transmission command for transmitting terminal voltages of only the odd-numbered battery cells (BC1, BC3) measured during executing the first discharge command to the control circuit, a second discharge command for discharging the even-numbered battery cells (BC2, BC4) of the cell group (GB1), and a second transmission command for transmitting terminal voltages of only the even-numbered battery cells (BC2, BC4) measured during executing the second discharge command to the control circuit to an integrated circuit (3A), so as to diagnose abnormality of a system including the battery cells, the measuring wires and the discharge circuit based on the terminal voltages each transmitted from the integrated circuit (3A).
