The present invention relates to a shock absorber for a sliding door in which one shock absorber is installed to buffer a pair of doors, and even if a hook protrudes by malfunction of the shock absorber, the moved hook is inserted to buffer the impact applied to the door when the door is closed, thereby automatically initializing the shock absorber and thus eliminating the inconvenience to disassemble and repair the door. A rectangular body is provided on upper and lower surfaces with a pair of sliding holes and damper grooves in a counter direction, and a rear surface is provided with a pair of spring grooves in a counter direction. The body is formed with a hook hole penetrating the body to communicate the sliding hole and the damper groove, which are formed in the counter direction, with the spring groove. A buffer has a piston of a damper facing the damper groove of the body, and a spring received in the spring groove. An end of the piston formed on the damper of the buffer and an end of the spring are connected to a locking body of a locking member, and then are inserted into the hook hole. The upper and lower portions of the locking body are formed with bosses sliding along the sliding groove. The locking member has a pair of hooks on the front of the locking body. |
