1. An implantable device comprising a block copolymer, the block copolymer comprising at least one polyester block and at least one poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) block,
wherein: the PEG block has a weight average molecular weight from about 1,000 Daltons to about 30,000 Daltons, the block copolymer is biosoluble, upon exposure to a physiological environment, 80% mass of the block copolymer will dissolve in a period of about 1 day to about 90 days; andthe block copolymer comprises biodegradable side blocks, the side blocks being polythioesters or a combination of polyanhydrides and polythioesters. |
