Long lateral completion system and method

A completion system and method adapted for use in wells having long lateral boreholes includes a mast assembly, a pipe handling mechanism, a pipe arm, a pipe tub, a pump/pit combination skid, a rig carrier, and a control system. The control system can be used to automate operations of the completion system to facilitate rapid and safe make-up and breaking of tubular connections.

1. A completion system for lowering a string comprising joints of a conduit into a well, the system comprising:
a rig transporter comprising a motorized unit and at least one carrier; a base beam; a mast assembly comprising a mast, a draw works, and a top drive, wherein the mast assembly is configured such that multiple wells can be worked at close distances; a pipe handling system comprising at least one pipe tub, a pipe moving arm, and a kick-out arm; a fluid system comprising at least one fluid pit and a pump apparatus; and a control system comprising a movable control room configured for automating operations of the pipe handling system, the fluid system, the mast assembly, or combinations thereof.
