The present invention relates to a semiconductor memory device for storing data. The semiconductor memory device includes: a memory cell having a predetermined status value according to the stored data; a control signal generating unit which generates a control signal during a read operation to vary the status value of the memory cell; an information storage unit which stores the information corresponding to the control signal in response to the time when the status value of the memory cell is varied; and an output unit which outputs the information stored in the information storage unit as a signal corresponding to the data.
