Cutting tools such as a milling cutter comprises: a tool body provided with a plurality of pockets to receive cutting inserts. Each of the pockets comprises: a lower supporting surface; a radius direction supporting surface; an axis direction supporting surface; a first corner relief between the lower supporting surface and the radius direction supporting surface; and a first stress relaxation portion formed within the first corner relief on one end of the pocket. The first stress relaxation portion reduces tension stress of the cutting tool during a processing operation. A second stress relaxation portion and the third stress relaxation portion may be formed within the first corner relief and/or a second corner relief. |
