According to an embodiment of the present invention, a vacuum cleaner wherein a main body first rotates separately from a wheel assembly when changing a direction, and the wheel assembly direction changed in accordance to the direction toward which the main body is moving such that the ability to move straight by the wheel is superior, and the change of driving direction of the main body is smooth. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the vacuum cleaner includes a main body including: a fan motor generating suction force; a suction unit connected to the main body, and coming in contact with a surface to be cleaned to suck in foreign substance on the surface to be cleaned; a cyclone dust collector detachably mounted on the main body separating and collecting dust from the air sucked in by the suction unit; and a wheel assembly to move the main body wherein the main body is disposed to rotatably separate from the wheel assembly, the main body is rotated to change the moving direction, and the main body may be moved in a direction changed by the wheel assembly.
