Disclosed are a pitch control system of a wind generator and a method thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a pitch control system of a wind generator independently controlling pitches includes a plurality of blades installed at a rotor; a main control unit approving a feathering command to stop the wind generator in case of an emergency; and an independent pitch control unit independently controlling pitches of the blades, converging a pitch angle of each blade within a predetermined first feathering pitch angle range when the feathering command is approved, and moving a feathering position while maintaining the predetermined first feathering pitch angle range.
