FIELD: medicine.SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to gastroenterology and infectious diseases, and concerns the prevention of developing thrombocytopenia in the patients suffering chronic hepatitis C (CHC) in a combination with Helicobacter pylori infection and receiving a combined antiviral therapy (CAVT). For this purpose, the beginning of the CAVT is preceded by a 10-14-day eradication therapy according to the schedule: a proton pump inhibitor in a standard dose twice a day + amoxicillin 500 mg 4 times a day or 1000 mg twice a day + clarithromycin 500 mg twice a day.
