According to an embodiment of the present invention, a non-linear crystal and a photonic crystal are applied to a depth camera such that a less expensive outdoor depth camera can be provided. The depth information extraction device using infrared light in accordance to an embodiment of the present invention includes: an infrared light irradiation unit which emits first infrared light toward a subject; a wavelength conversion unit which converts the first infrared light reflected by the subject into a second infrared light which is shorter in wavelength than the first infrared light; and a depth information extraction unit which extracts depth information of the subject by detecting the converted second infrared light. The wavelength conversion unit is configured to have a crystal for wavelength conversion.
