The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for controlling the temperature of an electronic device, wherein the method can determine a control temperature for controlling the functions of the electronic device based on air temperature, and control the functions of the electronic device based on a control step of the determined control temperature which corresponds to a measured device temperature. The operating method of the electronic device comprises: measuring air temperature; determining control temperature data corresponding to the air temperature; determining a device temperature of the electronic device; determining a control step of the device temperature from the control temperature data; and controlling the functions of the electronic device based on the control step.
