The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating hyperlipidemia or a feed additive for improving meat quality, the pharmaceutical composition and the feed additive containing a fly larvae ethanol extract as an active ingredient. The fly larvae ethanol extract of the present invention has excellent effects of reducing blood lipid levels, reducing HMG-CoA reductase activity, and increasing the release of sterol and bile acid through excrement. Therefore, the fly larvae ethanol extract of the present invention is a material capable of preventing or treating hyperlipidemia, and thus can be used as a functional feed additive as well as a medicine such as a pharmacological composition. Accordingly, the fly larvae ethanol extract of the present invention is expected to be highly valuable when applied to a pharmaceutical industry and a livestock feed industry. Particularly, the fly larvae ethanol extract of the present invention is a material derived from a natural substance and has safety without cytotoxicity, so the composition of the present invention containing the same as an active ingredient is safe despite the long-term use. |
