PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating or preventing at least one disease or condition to be treated selected from infectious diseases and autoimmune diseases, by enhancing resistance against infection of gastrointestinal tracts of the host with a pathogen.SOLUTION: A composition for treating autoimmune diseases, inflammatory diseases or infectious diseases induces proliferation or accumulation of regulatory T cells (Treg cells) by using bacteria belonging to the genus Clostridium or a physiologically active substance derived from the bacteria. The regulatory T cells are transcription factor Foxp3-positive regulatory T cells or IL-10-producing regulatory T cells.
