PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical member, with which an image display device having extremely superior appearance can be achieved.SOLUTION: The optical member includes a front plate, a smoothing layer, a polarizer and a retardation film, in this order, and has a printed layer formed in a peripheral part on a surface of the front plate on the smoothing layer side. The printed layer has a flat part and an inclined part formed on an inner end of the printed layer and having a thickness that inwardly decreases. In one embodiment, an inclination angle &thetas; of the inclined part of the printed layer is 1° to 15°. |
