PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a delay from the time at an instruction to reproduce a moving image subjected to compression encoding is given until completion of drawing of a decoding result of a head frame on a frame buffer.SOLUTION: As a compression method in loop reproduction based on encoded image data obtained by performing inter-frame prediction encoding on a moving image composed of a plurality of consecutive frames to compress it, there is provided a method for compressing a moving image for making at least a compression rate of a head frame of loop reproduction lower than a compression rate of the frame when not performing loop reproduction.
