The present invention relates to a method for casting an object from solid metallic glass, comprising the following steps: providing a model (1) of the object; applying an electrically conductive coating (2) to the model; galvanically applying a metal layer (3) selected from copper, iron, nickel, iron-nickel alloy, or nickel-cobalt alloy to the electrically conductive coating (2); melting out the model (1), wherein a metal mould is obtained; providing a melted metal alloy, which can form a metallic glass after cooling; pouring the melted metal alloy into the metal mould; letting the poured metal alloy solidify into a solid metallic glass; and removing the metal mould.
