The present invention relates to a tetracycline derivative, pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, or a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating viral diseases containing, as an active ingredient, a stereoisomer of the tetracycline derivative. The tetracycline derivative according to the present invention has excellent antibacterial activity, and unlike existing and commonly used antibacterial agents, has superior antibacterial activity specific to a hepatitis A virus, herpes simplex type 1, herpes simplex type 2, a Varicella-Zoster virus, and a respiratory syncytial virus, and thus can be useful in the pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating viral diseases caused by the above viruses, such as hepatitis A, herpes simplex, stomatitis, chicken pox, croup, bronchiolitis, bronchitis, and pneumonia.
