<p>The present invention relates to a filter assembly for improving the filtering performance of ballast water for a vessel. The filter assembly of the present invention comprises a casing (30) having an entrance introducing ballast water, and an exit discharging the filtered ballast water; filter elements (50) composed of multiple amounts arranged in circle within the casing, and combined to multiple supply holes (37) formed on a partition (36) at an opening entrance at the lower part for introducing the ballast water; a central axis (62) arranged in the vertical direction in the center of the casing; rotary shafts (72, 74) connected to the upper end of the central axis; a control motor (70) for rotating the central axis (62) or the rotary shafts (72, 74) at a predetermined angle; a linear motion means capable of performing an up and down motion to the central axis (62) or the rotary shafts (72, 74) at a predetermined range in the vertical direction; and a backwashing pipe (60) connected to the lower end of the central axis to be rotatable by the control motor, performing an up and down motion by the linear motion means, and having a connection part (66) closely attached to the supply holes (37) of the partition (36) to be connected to the inside of the filter elements. The backwashing pipe is separated from or combined to the filter elements, thereby allowing usage of the entire filter elements when filtering ballast water.</p> |
