PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting tool capable of discharging chips well and a method of producing a cutting tool.SOLUTION: The cutting tool includes a cutting blade for cutting an object material and a shank provided, in the lengthwise direction, with a dust suction hole having a non-circular cross section at least in the end part of the cutting blade side. The method of producing a cutting tool comprises forming, in the shank, an attachment part for attaching a cutting blade for cutting an object material or a tip as a cutting blade and providing, in the lengthwise direction, a dust suction hole having a non-circular cross section at least in the end part of the cutting blade side. |
