In order to reduce erroneous determinations during hatching egg inspections, a hatching egg inspection device is provided that comprises: a plurality of light emission means arranged two-dimensionally at prescribed positions; light reception means provided corresponding one-to-one to the light emission means and which receive light from the corresponding light emission means; and an egg container for lining up hatching eggs between each light emission means and the corresponding light reception means. Each hatching egg is inspected by the light reception means receiving light that has passed through the inside of the hatching egg, out of the light from each light emission device. When one light emission means among the plurality of light emission means is emitting light, other light emission means within a prescribed range having as the center thereof the one light emission means do not emit light.
