PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine, when an input device is level, which direction a user is performing an input operation from, and convert the input direction of a touch operation.SOLUTION: An input device 11 comprises: an input operation unit 140 for outputting an input operation signal corresponding to a touch operation of a user on an input surface; an inclination sensor 111 for detecting the inclination of the input device 11; a proximity sensor 112 for detecting that an object has approached; a state discrimination unit 130 for discriminating the state of the input device 11 between a first state in which the inclination of the input device 11 is within a prescribed range of angles including horizontality and the object is within a prescribed range from the proximity sensor 111 and a second state in which the inclination of the same is within a prescribed range of angles and the object is not within the prescribed range from the proximity sensor 111; and an input direction conversion unit 150 for generating an output operation signal C2 derived by converting the input direction of the touch operation indicated by an input operation signal C1 depending on whether the state is the first or the second state.
