<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus comprising a heating unit for heating the surface of a photoreceptor drum to dryness, capable of preventing deterioration in image quality of a printed image, attributed to a functional member affecting image formation, such as a transfer belt, locally heated by the heating unit.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a rubbing roller for contacting with the surface of a photoreceptor drum; temperature detection means for detecting an atmospheric temperature; humidity detection means for detecting atmospheric humidity; and heating control means. In the case in which the humidity detected by the humidity detection means is a first threshold or more, the heating control means allows a heating unit to heat the surface of the photoreceptor drum to dryness when the temperature detected by the temperature detection means is a threshold or more (step SA8), while allowing the rubbing roller to polish the surface of the photoreceptor drum with a polishing agent contained in toner to heat the surface of the drum to dryness by frictional heat generated by the polishing when the temperature detected by the temperature detection means is less than the threshold (step SA5).</p> |
