[Problem] To provide a thermochromic color-memorizing composition that effectively manifests the property of being capable of reversible memorization and retention of color and is suitable for use in a variety of fields, and to provide a thermochromic color-memorizing microcapsule pigment encapsulating the composition. [Solution] Provided is a thermochromic color-memorizing composition comprising (a) a component formed from an electron-releasing coloring organic compound, (b) a component formed from an electron-accepting compound, and (c) a reaction medium for controlling the coloring reaction between (a) and (b) that comprises the ester compound represented by formula (1); also provided is a thermochromic color-memorizing microcapsule pigment encapsulating the composition. (In the formula, R is a C4-22 alkyl group, C5-12 cycloalkyl alkyl group, C4-8 cycloalkyl group, or C4-22 alkenyl group, X is a hydrogen atom, C1-4 alkyl group, C1-4 alkoxy group, or halogen atom, and n is 0 or 1.) |
