The present invention discloses a multi type receptacle connector and a plug connector applied thereto. The multi type receptacle connector according to the present invention includes: a receptacle insulator including a main contact block, a sub-contact block disposed at both sides of the main contact block, and a fixed part block integrated with the main contact block and the sub-contact block; a main receptacle contact installed and fixed at the main contact block of the receptacle insulator; a sub-receptacle contact installed and fixed at a sub-contact block of the receptacle insulator; and a receptacle shell to surround at least a part of the receptacle insulator. The main receptacle contact and the sub-receptacle contact are buried in the main-contact block and the sub-contact block to have a contact position on different planes. Accordingly, the main receptacle contact and the sub-receptacle contact form a contact point in different directions.
