<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal base for a fixing belt having excellent durability.SOLUTION: A metal base for a fixing belt is configured such that: an area including a martensite phase and having a nickel content of 8 mass% or more is held by an area of austenite stainless steel including the austenite stainless steel including the martensite phase, including the martensite phase in the thickness direction, and having a nickel content of less than 8 mass%. The metal base having such configuration has high surface hardness and piercing resistance.</p> |
