摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for precisely calibrating display characteristics for an image display device in which local dimming control is performed.SOLUTION: An image display device includes a plurality of light emission parts; a display panel; first acquisition means of acquiring luminance information on each division region; first control means of determining a light emission quantity for each light emission part and making each light emission part emit a determined quantity of light; second acquisition means of acquiring a detection value of light from a predetermined region on a screen from a sensor; first determination means of determining whether the light from the predetermined region has variation due to a difference in light emission quantity between light emission parts based upon determined light emission quantities of the respective light emission parts; calibration means of calibrating display characteristics using the detection value of the sensor; and second control means of performing control to suppress calibration using the detection value as it is when it is determined that the light has the variation.</p>
