PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arc-welding apparatus capable of reducing spattering.SOLUTION: An arc-welding apparatus A1 includes: a feed-supply mechanism 41 for advancing and retracting a welding wire 44 relatively to a work W; a state detection part U2 for detecting a start of shorting and arcing states on the basis of a voltage across the work W and the welding wire 44; a time detection part U3 for detecting an event of elapsed time from starting the shorting state reaching reference time, with time shorter than predicted time of continuing the shorting state used as reference time; and a power control part U5 for decreasing a current flowing between the work W and the welding wire 44 as the elapsed time reaches the reference time, and increasing the current after an arcing state is started.
