PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve safety of a head-mounted display (HMD) against contact with a user during use.SOLUTION: A display unit 12 of a HMD is divided into a body portion 210 for forming image light and an emission port portion 214 having an emission port through which the formed image light is emitted to eyes of an observer, and the body portion and the emission port portion are detachably connected to each other by external force. In a state that the HMD is mounted on a head part of the observer, when a first external force acts on the emission port portion in response to contact of the emission port portion (for example, a half mirror 260) to a tool for protecting an observation eye located in the observation eye or the neighbors of a face of the observer or in the front of the observation eye of the observer, the emission port portion is disconnected from the body portion by the first external force. |
