PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator braking device diagnostic apparatus capable of achieving a highly accurate diagnosis of an elevator braking device.SOLUTION: According to the present invention, a microcomputer 2 includes: a data storage unit 2b storing therein a displacement amountδof a plunger 6A; and a characteristic evaluation processing unit 2c. The characteristic evaluation processing unit 2c calculates an average value X of the displacement amountδof the plunger 6A on the basis of the displacement amountδof the plunger 6A stored in the data storage unit 2b, and calculates a difference between the displacement amountδand the average value X of the plunger 6A per predetermined time stored in the data storage unit 2b back to end of flow of a coil current. The characteristic evaluation processing unit 2c performs the following processing. If the number of these differences out of a predetermined range Y is not less than a preset predetermined number m, the characteristic evaluation processing unit 2c diagnoses that an elevator braking device is abnormal. If the number of differences out of the predetermined range Y is less than the predetermined number m, the characteristic evaluation processing unit 2c diagnoses that the elevator braking device is normal.
