<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating oil base oil excellent in viscosity-temperature characteristic and stability to heat and oxidation, and capable of having both of high viscosity index and low temperature viscosity property at -35°C or less without using synthetic oil such as poly-α-olefin-based base oil or ester-based base oil, or low viscosity mineral oil-based base oil, and in particular enabling MRV viscosity at -40°C of a lubricating oil to be remarkably improved, and to provide a lubricating oil composition containing the lubricating oil base oil.SOLUTION: The lubricant base oil contains a saturated fraction of 95 mass% or more, a ratio of a cyclic saturated fraction in the saturated fraction is 10 mass% or less, the viscosity index is 110 or more, the aniline point is 106 or more, and a ration ofεmethylene in the total amount of a constituent carbon is 14 to 20%.</p> |
