PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet transport device which can prevent occurrence of a paper rubbing, a control method of the same, and an image formation device.SOLUTION: A sheet transport device 1C sandwiches a sheet P between upper and lower endless belts 41, 42, and transports the sheet P by rotation of the upper and lower endless belts 41, 42. The sheet transport device 1C comprises: steering mechanisms 46, 47 which respectively tilt the upper and lower endless belts 41, 42 in the width direction orthogonal to a sheet conveyance direction FD to respectively move the upper and lower endless belts 41, 42 in the width direction; a sheet determination function which determines existence of the sheet P between the upper and lower endless belts 41, 42; and a controller 50 including a control function which controls the steering mechanisms 46, 47. The controller 50 controls, when determining existence of the sheet P between the upper and lower endless belts 41, 42, the steering mechanisms 46, 47 to move the upper and lower endless belts 41, 42 in the width direction at the same speed and same direction. |
