METHOD FOR ESTIMATING THE CONCENTRATION OF PHOSPHATES IN LIVE CELLS, XANTHENE COLOURANT AND SYNTHESIS THEREOF

The invention relates to a method for estimating the concentration of phosphates present in live cells by means of measuring the fluorescence decay time of a xanthene colourant added to the cells and subjected to an excitation by means of pulsed laser light. The invention also relates to a new xanthene colourant derived from fluorescein, which has better spectral properties than those already known, and to a method for the synthesis of said colourant.
