ADAPTIVE VIDEO ENCODING DEVICE AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video decoding method and device.SOLUTION: A video decoding method for performing inter-screen prediction includes the steps of: receiving a bit stream containing information for a reference block identifier; and performing adaptive decoding on the basis of the received bit stream (control step). The reference block identifier indicates a restoration block used as a reference block. The bit stream further includes information for an encoding system indicator indicating whether adaptive encoding according to encoding mode of the reference block has been performed for the block to be decoded. The control step determines the encoding mode corresponding to the block to be decoded on the basis of the encoding system indicator and determines whether execution of adaptive decoding according to the determined encoding mode is advisable.
