PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device in which irregularities occurring at a lower part of a light emitting element do not negatively affect the light emitting element and water intrusion is reduced.SOLUTION: A light emitting device includes: a first insulator film provided on a substrate; a first conductive film provided above the first insulator film; a second conductive film provided above the first insulator film; a second insulator film provided above the first conductive film and the second conductive film; a third insulator film provided above the second insulator film and having flatness; a first electrode provided above the third insulator film; a light emitting layer provided above the first electrode; a second electrode provided above the light emitting layer; and a seal material provided above the third insulator film. The first electrode is electrically connected with the first conductive film. The seal material has a region overlapping with the second conductive film. The seal material has a region contacting with the third insulator film.
