PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite membrane where a composite structure which has an effective polymer film thickness being greatly reduced and which exhibits a desired tensile strength and a nanotube reinforcement structure which does not significantly deteriorate the permeability performance of a separate polymer matrix are embedded.SOLUTION: A composite membrane for separation includes: woven fabric having the nonwoven array of mixed carbon nanotubes; and a dopant integrated into the woven fabric so as to form a non-porous permeable composite. The composite membrane: is set in a housing chamber; and can be used for separating a target gas from a liquid by adjusting the permeated object side of the chamber so as to establish a driving force for the target gas across a non-porous permeable composite membrane.
