<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that uses an electrostatic latent image and performs accurate color shift correction control.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: image forming means including a photoreceptor that is driven to rotate, scanning means for scanning the photoreceptor with light to form an electrostatic latent image on the photoreceptor, and process means for acting on the photoreceptor for image formation; forming means for forming, on the photoreceptor, an electrostatic latent image for correction including a plurality of electrostatic latent images for color shift correction; power source means corresponding to the process means; detection means for detecting the output of the power source means when the electrostatic latent image for correction formed on the photoreceptor passes through a position opposing to the process means and outputting detection signals; waveform forming means for performing the formation of the waveform of detection signals; and control means for performing color shift correction control by detecting the electrostatic latent image for correction formed on the photoreceptor on the basis of the detection signals after the waveform formation by the waveform forming means. During the color shift correction control, the control means inhibits the use of a result of the detection of at least the electrostatic latent image that is initially formed, of the plurality of electrostatic latent images of the electrostatic latent image for correction formed on the photoreceptor, for the calculation of the amount of color shift.</p> |
