PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel aqueous coating agent which is curable thermally or with heat and chemical rays and suitable for production of a coating system showing a clearly reduced clouding tendency very well as an aqueous base coat or a solid color top coat, composed of one or more layers and imparting a color and/or an effect.SOLUTION: An aqueous coating agent is curable physically, thermally or with heat and chemical rays and comprises A) a polyurethane grafted with at least one saturated, unsaturated and/or olefinic unsaturated compound and stabilized ionically or non-ionically as a binder, B) at least one pigment imparting a color and/or an effect and C) at least one colorless powder which is practically inactive to other ingredients of the coating agent and transparent or opal and has an average particle size of 1.0-10.0μm and a density of particles of 0.8-3.6 g cm.
