This technology pertains to a transmission device, a signal transmission method for a transmission device, a reception device, a signal reception method for a reception device, and a program that allow high-speed nonlinear-distortion compensation and demodulation or decoding. Via an acquisition unit, this transmission device acquires distortion information that indicates the distortion that will be applied to an information signal due to the nonlinearity of a channel through which said information signal is to be conveyed. Via a compensation unit, the transmission device uses the acquired distortion information to perform compensation on the to-be-transmitted information signal such that the distortion in the received information signal will be cancelled out. Via a transmission unit, the transmission device: includes, in a control signal for the information signal, distortion-compensation information indicating that the information signal has undergone compensation; and transmits same. |
