<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that allows significant speed-up of image output without employing a configuration that hinders high-speed drive of a belt, such as a displacement guide member, accurately detects an oblique motion of an endless belt with an easy and inexpensive configuration, and reliably corrects an image forming position of an image carrier to prevent image distortion and color shift due to displacement of an image in the main scanning direction, and thereby allows significant improvement of quality of output images. <P>SOLUTION: Belt displacement detection means 300 includes: a light source part 301; light shielding parts 311, 312 each of which is provided at a different position in the sub-scanning direction of a belt and comes into contact with an end portion 200a of the belt surface, moves in the same direction in accordance with the movement of an intermediate transfer belt in the main-scanning direction, and has a different light shielding direction of parallel light bundles in the direction of movement; and a light receiving part 305 that receives parallel light bundles after the light shielding. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
