<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electron emission element that can remove oxygen from a diamond-membrane based atmosphere and prevent oxygen adsorption on a dehydrogenated diamond surface. <P>SOLUTION: In a container 4, an oxygen adsorbent 8 is placed for removing oxygen in the container 4. Such placement of the oxygen adsorber 8 in the container 4 allows the oxygen adsorbent 8 to adsorb oxygen present in the container 4 so as to remove oxygen from the container 4. This can prevent, even if surfaces 1a and 2a of a diamond membrane respectively making up an emitter electrode 1 and a collector electrode 2 are dehydrogenated, oxygen adsorption on a dehydrogenated dangling-bond, so that decrease of probability for electron emission and degradation in luminance efficiency, emission probability of a field-emission electron and generating efficiency of thermal electronic power generation can be prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
