PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow easy mounting work for split-structured cap pieces while securing sufficient strength of the cap pieces to be mounted on brackets. SOLUTION: This cap piece device comprises: short brackets 2 provided at spaces on a rising skeleton 1 of a building; and rear-split cap pieces 3a and front-split cap pieces 3b provided thereon at the indoor side and at the outdoor side, respectively. On each bracket 2, a first locking part 4, a second locking part 5 and a third locking part 6 are formed at the indoor side, at the intermediate, and at the outdoor side, respectively. On each rear-split cap piece 3a, a first locking piece 11 and a second locking piece 12 are formed which are lockable to the first locking part and the second locking part of the bracket 2, respectively. On each front-split cap piece 3b, a locking piece and a third locking piece 13 are formed which are lockable to the outdoor side of the rear-split cap piece 3a and to the third locking part 6 of the bracket 2, respectively.
