355,141. Coin-freed apparatus. GOULDING, W. G. and AUTOMATIC SCALE CO., Ltd., Broadbeath, Altrincham, Cheshire. Nov. 22, 1930, No. 35214. [Class 27.] Registering. - In a coin-freed weighing, vending, or like machine, each coin inserted through a slot 10 in a hood 11 to a coin shoot 8 engages one end 13 of a lever 6 pivoted at 7, the other end of which is connected at 4 to the actuating arm 5 of a counter 1 and at 16 to one link 17 of a pair of togglelinks 17, 19. These links are pivoted together at 18 and the link 19 is pivoted at 20 to a support frame 3. When the lever 6 is displaced by a coin, the counter is actuated and the toggle is moved until the pivot 18 comes below the aligned pivots 16, 20 thereby retaining the lever 6 in its displaced position. The link 17 moves into the path of a triptray 21 pivoted at 22, and the link 19 abuts against a stop-screw 24. The coin passing down the shoot 8 turns the tray 21 and trips the link 17 so that the lever 6, toggle 17, 19, and arm 5 are returned to their initial positions by a plate-spring 15. In the application.to a weighing machine, the tilting of the tray 21 raises a pawl out of engagement with a ratchet wheel 26 which controls the usual operating mechanism of the weighing-machine. The stop 24 and a stop-screw 27 mounted adjacent the slot 10 are adjustable to regulate the movement of the link and lever components of the mechanism. |
